Damaged Unframed Photographs
If your print has been damaged during shipping:
If your photograph has been damaged in shipping, you will have 14 days from the date of delivery to initiate a reprint request. Your photograph will be replaced free of charge with a reprint with the same edition number provided the following conditions listed below are met:
Please ensure you follow the steps below.
- If the packaging tube is damaged in any way when you receive it from our shipping partner, please ensure that this damage is logged by them before accepting the delivery. However please do not attempt to return the package to the shipping partner. We will escalate this from our end.
- As is detailed in our handling instructions, we recommend only opening the packaging tube with your framer after carefully reading our handling instructions. Please film the opening of the packaging tube, as this serves as evidence that the damage was due to shipping and not due to customer handling of the print.
- A reprint request authorization must be requested as soon as possible but at the latest within 14 days of your date of delivery. You must contact us at [email protected] to request and receive an RRA.
- Please provide detailed photo/ video evidence of the damage to your photograph/s as well as any damage to the packaging in your initial request as well as the video showing the print being opened for the first time.
- Once your reprint request has been authorized, you will be requested to provide video evidence of the destruction of the original photograph by tearing it into at least 8 equal pieces.
- If the above conditions are met, we will replace the damaged print at no cost to you. If the above conditions are not met, we charge a 30% handling fee on the original retail price (before discounts) of the photograph plus shipping for the replacement of damaged unframed photographs.
If your print has been damaged during framing:
If your photograph has been damaged during the framing process, you will have 180 days from the date of delivery to initiate a reprint request. Your photograph will be replaced with a reprint with the same edition number in exchange for a handling and shipping fee.
Please ensure you follow the steps below.
- A reprint request authorization must be requested within 180 days of your date of delivery. You must contact us at [email protected] to request and receive an RRA.
- Please provide detailed photo/ video evidence of the damage to your photograph/s as well as any damage to the packaging (if damaged during shipping) in your initial request.
- Once your reprint request has been authorized, you will be requested to provide video evidence of the destruction of the original photograph by tearing it into at least 8 equal pieces.
- We charge a 30% handling fee on the original retail price (before discounts) of the photograph plus shipping for the replacement of damaged unframed photographs.
Damaged Framed Photographs
Due to the high risk nature of shipping a framed photograph with glass, we encourage customers to add insurance (for their own account) to their shipping (already for their own account).
While we endeavour to package the framed photograph safely in a shipping crate, we will not be held liable for the replacement of a damaged frame or glass, and will replace photographs on the same basis as described in “Damaged Unframed Photographs” above.
Damaged Glass
If your framed photograph arrives with damaged glass only, we suggest you contact a local framer to assist with the replacement of the glass. They are welcome to contact us if they have questions regarding opening up the frame.
If you opted to add insurance to your shipping, please contact the shipping provider immediately to initiate a claim.
Damaged Frame
If your framed photograph arrives with a damaged frame, we again suggest you contact a local framer to assist. Often small scratches or dents can be repaired quite easily without the need to replace the entire frame.
Should the frame be so badly damaged that it needs to be replaced, we will charge the full framing cost for a new frame along with shipping.
If you opted to add insurance to your shipping, please contact the shipping provider immediately to initiate a claim.
Damaged Photograph
If the damage to the frame / glass has also damaged your photograph (it is virtually impossible for the photograph to be damaged in the frame without damage to the frame or glass), you will have 180 days from the date of delivery to initiate a reprint request. Your photograph will be replaced with a reprint with the same edition number, in exchange for a handling and shipping fee.
- We charge a 30% handling fee on the cost of the photograph plus shipping for the replacement of damaged unframed photographs. Note that (as described above) a new frame will be charged at 100% of the normal selling price to be replaced (over and above the fees noted here).
