Because I always carry my camera, I started capturing Sofia’s hidden gems and posting them on social media. My friends from various parts of the world—Italy, Greece, England, Canada, Israel, and beyond—were stunned, saying: “Is this really Sofia?” Their reactions made me realize how deeply misunderstood this city was. My short, four-day business trip became ten days, then twenty, and ultimately I chose to move here permanently. Since then, I’ve explored Sofia year-round, braving rain and snow, always seeking out new perspectives and angles to photograph.

Back in 2012, I had a dream: to publish a book showing the world how colorful and captivating Sofia truly is. The Colours of Sofia is the fulfillment of that dream—a testament to the city’s vibrant soul. But my mission doesn’t end with the book. I’ve also created fine art prints and digital wallpapers as another way to share the spirit of Sofia. Whether you decorate your walls or adorn your devices with these images, my hope is that they inspire you to look beyond the stereotypes and discover the city’s true beauty. By bringing Sofia’s colors (and even its monochrome moments) into homes and offices around the world, I hope to spark curiosity and encourage others to experience this remarkable place for themselves.
